Inner Awakening though Mantra and Kriyas
Saturday 13 Feb
2.00 – 4.00pm
(please book and secure your place by paying in advance – numbers limited)
Shailendra was born in Rishikesh, India, on the banks of the holy river Ganga at the foot of the Himalayas. Shailendra does not practice or teach one specific style of yoga; rather, he focuses on the traditional practice of Vedic yoga which encompasses a holistic approach, combining the many different aspects of yoga.
An ancient practice of the yogic tradition, Kriya is one in which our awareness and energies are attuned inwards. Powerful and pure sounds are combined with asana, mudra and bhanda to bring you to the present.
Kriya means inner movement of consciousness. Kriya is a subtle practice, and is a training to bring the senses inward – this is a practice known as pratyahara. The purpose is to balance your energy and prepare you for inner focus and gradually for the state of meditation.
In the practices of Kriya, you are aware of movement, sound, breath, holding the breath and pranic centers.
